GPS Tracking
Asset tracking security solutions from Omniscout Corp. of Canada are available through Australian Security Technology Pty Ltd, throughout Australasia. These products use GPRS/GPS tracking and information systems and are, we believe the first of a new generation of such portable devices offered for use into the recreational and personal security markets.

These devices can not only be used to track assets but can also be used for personal protection. A range of products is on offer, with varied applications. All of these use GPS tracking to feedback information to you on the asset or person who is using the device.

For instance, omniscout can be used to track the movements of your son or daughter. Setting the omniscout system to automatically send an “excessive speed” to both your son/daughter’s and your own mobile phone allows both parties to know that this is happening. This reminds your son/daughter to slow down and lets you know that he/she is speeding. (It’s almost like being on the back seat.)

Commercially, omniscout will monitor vehicle and personnel movement—ideal for security purposes where Organizations like law enforcement, government agencies, public and private corporations and so on.

Three product configurations are on offer:
  • omniscout portable
  • omniscout LT200
  • omniscout 2000
Omniscout
Manufactured by Worldscout Corporation, a Canadian company with offices in Richmond Hill Ontario, Phoenix Arizona, and Dundalk Ireland.

Portable Personal GPS Tracking

Portable Personal GPS Tracking
The omniscout Portable is a small, portable GPRS/GPS location, tracking, asset recovery and personal protection system. The omniscout Portable will determine and report the global location of any mobile asset, vehicle, person etc. in which or on whom the omniscout Portable is located with an accuracy of a few meters. The omniscout Portable is able to communicate its location and receive commands using the international (GSM/GPRS) wireless networks. These networks are used by most of the world's cellular communications companies.

The omniscout Portable is a hybrid of two technologies—the Global Positioning System (GPS) and GSM/GPRS wireless communications networks. The omniscout Portable uses the GPS satellite network to obtain the exact location of the device and GSM/GPRS wireless networks to communicate and pass this data on to the location enabled enterprise system or to send emails to the user or SMS messages to a mobile phone, Blackberry, PDA etc.. In addition, if the Portable is unable to obtain a GPS location as a result of being in a restricted GPS signal area such as in a building, underground etc. omniscouts propriataly Enhanced Location Technology (ELT) will establish its location through cellular tower triangulation and maintain same until GPS contact is reestablished.

The omniscout Portable’s compact size makes it one of the smallest devices in its category on the market today, weighing only 80 g (2.8 oz). The omniscout Portable has its own lithium ion battery that provides approximately five – seven days of usage. No external antenna is required.

Optional accessories expand the omniscout Portable’s functionality and allow for seamless integration into larger applications. These include in-vehicle wiring kits, large capacity battery packs, waterproof cases and more.

Typical applications include:

  • Monitoring motorcycles, scooters, off road vehicles, ATV’s, Jet Skis and snow mobiles.
  • Monitoring rental and service vehicles.
  • Monitoring recreational vehicles, boats and trailers.
  • Monitoring personal vehicles and occupants.

The omniscout Portable is controlled and reports through the omniscout Control Centre, an easy to use internet-based interface. As the user, you set the device parameters and determine what types of alerts you may require, who the alerts are sent to and the actions to be taken once an alert is received. The omniscout Portable communicates through the GSM/GPRS Cellular system and, as such requires
an active SIM Card and monitoring package.

Omniscout portable covert tracking

The omniscout Portable is a one-piece, self-contained device that does not require additional or external GPS or cellular antennas. Equal in size to a small mobile phone and weighing only 80 gr/2.8 ounces it can be easily hidden in a number of locations in a vehicle or on a person.

The omniscout LT200 is a small, portable GPRS/GPS covert location and tracking system designed specifically for law enforcement applications. The LT200 will determine and report the global location of any mobile asset, vehicle, person etc. in which or on whom the LT200 is located with an accuracy of only a few meters. The LT200 is able to communicate its location and receive commands using the international (GSM/GPRS) wireless networks. These networks are used by most of the world's cellular communications companies.

The LT200 has established itself as an effective system for covert monitoring applications as required by law enforcement agencies. It is currently being used by the U.S. Department of Treasury ATF, Department of Justice, U.S. Marshals, various State and local Police Detachments in the U.S. and Canada.

The LT200's compact size makes it one of the smallest devices in its category on the market today. The LT200 has its own, self contained, lithium ion battery that will provide approximately 3 - 5 days of usage. Optional extended battery packs and waterproof magnetic cases expand the omniscout LT200's functionality and allow for seamless integration into larger applications. Other options include in-vehicle wiring kits, OBD-II wiring harnesses and more.

Typical applications include:

  • Monitoring cars, trucks and trailers
  • Monitoring motorcycles, scooters, off road vehicles, ATV’s, Jet Skis and snow mobiles.
  • Monitoring recreational vehicles, boats and trailers.
  • Monitoring personnel, VIP’s, politicians, etc.
  • Monitoring equipment, shipments, hazardous material, electronics, etc.

Just like the omniscout Portable, the LT200 is controlled and reports through the internet-based Control Centre.

Most similar devices suffer from inherited GPS limitation that the satellite signal can be detected only if there is a clear view to the sky. The LT200 uses a sophisticated Assisted GPS (AGPS) system supported by Worldscout Corp.’s own proprietary, patent-pending unique Adaptive Assisted GPS (AAGPS), enabling it to communicate with the GPS satellites without a clear view of the sky, even from inside buildings. Additionally the LT200 records and stores the last 50,000 waypoints in its own memory. GPS history and waypoints can be downloaded and replayed for evidence if required.
